may 2010: laMDA April Examinations' results! great news!!

The recent April examinations were very successful (adding to the great success of the November results!) and of the 75 candidates who entered, 23 passed with 'Merit' and 28 with ‘Distinction’. Subjects taken included Acting, Musical Theatre, Public Speaking and Verse & Prose. Students' ages spanned from 8 to 60 years old! MANY MANY CONGRATULATIONS to one and all for their creative devotion and hard work.

I am proud to announce my appointment as Drama Teacher at Danseplus in Monaco.

Boys and girls are welcome to come along to have some serious fun developing performance skills and self-confidence.
Starting in September 2010, drama lessons will take place on Tuesday evenings, as follows:
18h15 - 19h15 (8-11 year olds) and 19h15 - 20h15 (12+)

LAMDA students should note that these lessons are completely apart from regular LAMDA preparation, which will be available as usual.

November 2010 Examinations: dates & enrolment

Please note that these examinations are open to all ages, not just children and actors. Anyone who needs to communicate in this world would benefit from LAMDA exams! The deadline for enrolment is 19th September and the exams take place in the week of 28th November 2010.

Subjects include acting, musical theatre, public speaking, the speaking of verse and prose, and others.

My name is Jane; my family — I am mother of four — has given me a lot of experience, one way and another. One thing that’s clear is that we must give children the best possible start in life. As if, our job is to give them wings in order that they may fly, especially in these highly competitive times.

Another thing I’ve learned is that it’s never too late to start…

Life has taught me many skills, some of which I am happy to offer to you and your children in the form of private tuition. These include teaching English and also training in vocal communication and performance — namely, LAMDA Examinations tuition.

I have been involved and fascinated with English theatre all my adult life, and have been teaching drama to children for a number of years now. LAMDA is the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, which has been established for almost 150 years — so I am thrilled to have been appointed the LAMDA Examinations' local representative and organiser for Monaco and the South of France. Since April 2009 we have staged LAMDA Examinations in Monaco, Nice and Mougins, to an ever growing number of enthusiastic students of all ages between 6 and 60 and beyond!

While putting this page together, I couldn’t resist a little exhibition… If you click Here you will see some of the paintings I have done over my years as an artist — for painting and creativity are two other passions in my life. Much of my work has been sold and I am proud to say that it is hanging on walls in many far-flung parts of the world.
