JANUARY 2012: LAMDA AUTUMN 2011 EXAMINATION RESULTS
Though we pride ourselves on spoken word and acting we are lost for superlatives to describe the latest results in an evolving and heartening tale of success here on the Côte d'Azur!
Suffice it to say that of 83 candidates taking the Autumn exams, in one or other of our three examination centres (Monaco, Nice, Mougins), over half achieved Merit and nearly a third Distinction.
The figures are these:
Altogether: 83 candidates, of whom 43 Merit and 27 Distinction.
Monaco: 48 candidates, of whom 25 Merit and 20 Distinction.
Mougins: 18 candidates, of whom 10 Merit and 3 Distinction.
Nice: 17 candidates, of whom 8 Merit and 4 Distinction.
I can't say more than three-cheers for all the work that both the candidates and teachers have put in to achieve these terrific results: well done all.

spring 2012 Examinations: dates & enrolment

Please note that these examinations are open to all, not just children and actors. Anyone who needs to communicate in this world would benefit from LAMDA exams! Please note that you should anticipate between 8 and 10 lessons in order to prepare for your exam, be it public speaking, acting, verse & prose, musical theatre, etc. Adequate preparation produces the best results.

Candidates may enrol as of now for the Spring 2012 LAMDA Examination Session, which will be held between 30th March & 2nd April 2012.

Please note that the deadline for enrolment is Monday 19th January.

Subjects include acting, musical theatre, public speaking, the speaking of verse and prose, and others.

I am sure we all agree that we must give children the best possible start in life. Our job is to give them wings in order that they may fly, especially in these highly competitive times.

Life has taught me many skills, some of which I am happy to offer to you and your children in the form of private tuition. These include teaching English and also training in vocal communication and performance — namely, LAMDA Examinations tuition.

Another thing I’ve learned is that it’s never too late to start…

I have been involved and fascinated with English theatre all my adult life, and have been teaching drama to children for a number of years now. LAMDA is the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, which celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2011 — so I am proud to have been appointed the LAMDA Examinations' local representative and organiser for Monaco and the South of France. Since April 2009 we have staged LAMDA Examinations in Monaco, Nice and Mougins, twice a year, to an ever growing number of enthusiastic students of all ages between 6 and 60 and beyond!

While putting this page together, I couldn’t resist a little exhibition… If you click Here you will see some of the paintings I have done over my years as an artist — for painting and creativity are two other passions in my life. Much of my work has been sold and I am proud to say that it is hanging on walls in many far-flung parts of the world.
