LAMDA Examinations in France, an Introduction

LAMDA examinations are now available in Monaco and on the Côte d’Azur, as outlined below, with Mougins School and the International Schools of Monaco and Nice the current official examination centres.

LAMDA examination sessions in Monaco, Nice and  Mougins take place twice a year, in April and November.   Students from all schools and indeed of all ages, in school or not, may participate locally in these internationally recognised, graded examinations.  Since our exam sessions started in 2009 we have achieved an excellent pass rate with a high proportion of candidates gaining Merit or Distinction.

Jane Dubuisson not only gives private tuition towards these examinations in the Monaco area but is also the local LAMDA Examinations' representative and organiser for the exams themselves.

For details of Jane's tuition, go to the Private Tuition page in this site.

What is LAMDA?

The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) is one of the oldest drama schools in the United Kingdom.  Founded in 1861, it quickly established itself as a centre of excellence in performance training.  LAMDA has provided theatre and the world of film and television with generation upon generation of first-class actors and expertly-trained stage managers across the world.

"LAMDA Examinations" is the body that organises and supervises the examinations.

Why might it be interesting to take LAMDA examinations?

LAMDA began offering speech examinations to the public in the 1880s.  Since then, these examinations have been refined and developed into a comprehensive system of performance evaluation by experts in education, acting and communication. In addition to being the UK’s largest statutory speech and drama awarding body, LAMDA Examinations have a reputation for excellence across the globe.

LAMDA exams are invaluable for all students involved in viva voce presentation, students of drama, people of all ages who communicate in business and indeed anyone in the public eye.
